West African instant payment platform — The Central Bank of West African States (BCEAO) has published an updated list of participants authorized to offer public services on the Interoperable Instant Payment System Platform (PI-SPI). A total of 175 participants across the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA) are now authorized, including 20 based in Burkina Faso.

The list, dated September 30, 2026, identifies all financial institutions and actors permitted to operate within the community’s new instant and interoperable payment infrastructure. The BCEAO urges the public to consult this official registry to verify a participant’s status before using PI-SPI services.

This move represents a key step in modernizing and unifying financial transactions across the eight-member UEMOA zone.
