Analyst Claims Vučić’s Secret to Power is Control of Security Services Since 2012

Stanje stvari

Political analyst Cvijetin Milivojević claims Serbian leader Aleksandar Vučić’s secret to longevity in power is his control over all security services since 2012. In an interview for Srbin.info, Milivojević stated that Vučić, upon becoming first deputy prime minister in 2012, secured the role of coordinator for all security agencies, a position he has held ever since.

Milivojević revealed that Vučić called him at the start of his rule, offering to show him a secret file on his then-coalition partner, former Prime Minister Ivica Dačić, to turn him against Dačić. The analyst refused the meeting, citing shame for Dačić’s perceived humiliation. He noted that fellow analyst Jovo Bakić attended similar meetings but ceased contact after Vučić allegedly produced compromising material.

Milivojević argued that this control, not political genius, is the enigma of Vučić’s enduring rule, asserting that the police and interior ministry are his “property.”
