A man narrowly escaped a Russian drone strike near Kyiv, Ukraine’s capital, according to security camera footage obtained by Reuters on Saturday. The incident occurred last Thursday in the village of Sviatopetrivske, southwest of the city.

The video shows the man walking down a street near a kindergarten and a playground before he suddenly turns and runs in the opposite direction. Seconds later, a large explosion, apparently caused by a drone, rocks the spot where he had just been standing. The man’s health condition had not been disclosed at the time of the report.

The footage underscores the persistent threat to civilians from Russian attacks in and around the Ukrainian capital.
