In an opinion piece, Miroslav Parović, president of the People’s Freedom Movement, argues that the key to defeating the regime of Aleksandar Vucic is for citizens to publicly reject any claim of victory he makes on election night. Parović claims that for over two decades, Vucic has personally announced his party’s wins after 10 p.m., creating a conditioned public reflex to accept the result.
The columnist urges opposition supporters to wait in the streets across Serbia, especially in central Belgrade, instead of watching television on the night of the scheduled October 25, 2026 vote. If Vucic declares victory, the response must be a mass chant of “It won’t work tonight,” thereby preventing the political process from concluding. Parović believes such a visible rejection would deny the regime legitimacy and prevent international congratulations.
He suggests that if the election proceeds as scheduled, the opposition should then organize the largest-ever rally on November 1, 2026, to definitively end what he calls a criminal regime. The article concludes by linking this moment to achieving justice for the 17 people who died under a collapsed roof at a Novi Sad farm in 2012.
