Miloš Jovanović, leader of the New Democratic Party of Serbia (Novi DSS), stated on August 5, 2026, that the current political order under Aleksandar Vučić and the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) is nearing its end, and that many citizens are frustrated with the situation. Jovanović emphasized that his party and its allies will do everything possible to ensure that the coming changes in Serbia proceed peacefully.

Speaking in Belgrade, Jovanović argued that the existing electoral conditions are unfair, with little opposition presence in the media and a lack of genuine political pluralism. He claimed that as a result, any upcoming elections would be illegitimate. Despite these concerns, he stressed that the New DSS and the broader right-wing coalition, including the Monarchists and the Serbian coalition NADA, are committed to preventing unrest and further chaos after the elections.

Jovanović expressed doubts about whether the results of the next elections, once announced by Aleksandar Vučić, would be accepted by the public. He noted that the majority of citizens are dissatisfied, except for those with direct interests tied to the current regime. Jovanović warned that if there is a public reaction to the election results, responsibility would lie with what he described as an autocratic government unwilling to allow true democracy.

He concluded by reaffirming his party’s intention to act responsibly and to do everything in their power to ensure that the inevitable changes ahead take place in an orderly manner. The coalition of the New DSS and Monarchists, known as the Serbian coalition NADA, is expected to play a significant role in the upcoming elections.
