Analyst Claims Vučić Plans Election Day Fraud to Counter Student List Surge

A Serbian political analyst has published a detailed claim that President Aleksandar Vučić and his ruling Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) are preparing a “cunning plan” to manipulate the parliamentary elections scheduled for October 25, 2026. Dr. Miroslav Parović argues that the government’s media campaign has failed, leading it to rely on intimidation and, ultimately, electoral fraud to secure victory against the main opposition coalition, the Student List.

Parović alleges the strategy involves two key fraudulent methods. First, focusing on rural areas where the voter registry is allegedly padded with names of people working abroad or who do not exist, making oversight difficult. Second, he claims loyalists are prepared to deliberately spoil around 500 polling stations in urban areas where the Student List is expected to win by stuffing extra ballots. This would allow the Republican Electoral Commission (RIK) to annul those results.

The goal, according to the analyst, is to create a false public impression of a Vučić victory on election night to demoralize the opposition and prevent protests. To counter this, Parović urges citizens to vote early for the Student List (ballot number 3) and to take to the streets across Serbia immediately after polls close at 8:01 PM. He concludes that such mobilization could trigger an uncontrollable post-election crisis, culminating in a large rally in Belgrade on November 1, 2025, marking two years since a crime in Novi Sad.
