Chinese Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang has emphasized that the expanding energy partnership between China and Russia is playing a crucial role in stabilizing the global energy market amid rising geopolitical tensions. Speaking at the opening ceremony of the 8th China-Russia Energy Business Forum in Vladivostok on September 5, 2026, Ding highlighted the strategic importance of bilateral cooperation in oil and gas as a stabilizing force in an unpredictable international environment.

Ding Xuexiang, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, credited strong political guidance from both nations’ top leaders for the success of the energy relationship. He stressed the need to deepen mutual trust, enhance strategic communication, and expand practical collaboration. The cooperation model, he noted, balances mutual interests and has driven economic growth and improved living standards in both countries through joint efforts in energy resources and technological innovation.

Highlighting resilience as a key trait of the partnership, Ding called for continued use of established mechanisms to address shared challenges, including market volatility and external risks. He urged both sides to strengthen coordination and safeguard the stability of global energy supply chains.
