This technology would enable missiles to fly at speeds several times the speed of sound.

Experts cited by the Financial Times suggest the advanced weaponry could be used against both ships and land targets. The development poses a potential threat to U.S. naval assets, including aircraft carriers, operating in the Middle East. The investigation reportedly relied on leaked Russian correspondence, travel records, and military patent analyses, indicating that cooperation continued even after the conflict between Iran and Israel escalated last year.

This development follows earlier reports from Reuters in July 2026, which indicated that U.S. intelligence analysts were examining whether Russia had provided Iran with targeting information or advanced technology for drones used in attacks against CIA facilities in the Middle East.
