Russian military support — Japan’s Ministry of Defense has cautioned that Russian military assistance could significantly enhance North Korea’s armed forces in the coming years. In its latest annual white paper, released on Tuesday, the ministry noted that while there is no clear evidence of immediate improvements in North Korea’s military capabilities due to Russian support, the pace and scope of cooperation between Moscow and Pyongyang are increasing.
