Political analyst Cvijetin Milivojević has claimed that Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić once tried to recruit him to undermine then-Prime Minister Ivica Dačić by showing him a secret dossier. In an interview for the YouTube channel Srbin.info, Milivojević stated that Vučić, as first deputy prime minister in 2012, personally called him and other figures at the start of his rule to lobby against Dačić.
Milivojević said he refused the offer, which he described as an attempt to demonstrate Vučić’s ownership of the security services. “He was offering to show me his (Dačić’s) dossier,” the analyst said, adding that he felt shame for Dačić’s subsequent subservience to Vučić.
The analyst argued that Vučić’s enduring hold on power stems from his role as “coordinator of all security services,” a position he secured in 2012 and has maintained ever since. He claimed this control over the police and intelligence agencies, not political genius, is the secret to Vučić’s longevity.
Milivojević also referenced sociologist Jovo Bakić, who allegedly attended similar meetings with Vučić but stopped communicating after Vučić produced a document from a drawer, presumably concerning Dačić.
