Austrian YouTubers breach Serbian military airbase, film and publish footage online

Two Austrian YouTubers breached security and filmed extensively inside the Colonel-Pilot Milenko Pavlović military airbase, a key facility near Belgrade more commonly known as Batajnica airbase. The duo, who run the channel “Roofless TV,” published the footage online where it has been viewed hundreds of thousands of times.

In the video, the two men are seen walking around the perimeter and inside the restricted military area, filming aircraft, including some that appear to be out of service. The YouTubers claim they entered unnoticed and did not encounter any security personnel during their incursion. The channel is known for “urbex” explorations of abandoned and forbidden sites.

Serbian authorities have so far failed to comment on the incident. The Nova.rs news portal stated it had contacted the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the airbase directly with inquiries, but received no answers. The silence raises questions about the security protocols at the facility, which is home to the Serbian Air Force and Air Defence’s 204th Aviation Brigade.

The Batajnica airbase, located just over 20 kilometers from the capital, is a historically significant site for the Serbian military. Construction began in 1947 and it was officially opened in 1951.
