A student-led political list will be announced in the coming days as Serbia prepares for snap parliamentary elections scheduled for October 25, 2026. Marija Božović, a student at the Medical Faculty in Novi Sad, confirmed the timeline, stating the list is ready pending final technical and legal formalities.
Božović framed the election as a choice between “Serbia or the mafia,” expressing confidence that students would win. She said activists have been campaigning for two years and will hold numerous public forums to introduce their platform, with the goal of changing the system and building a “normal society.”
The list has garnered support from parliamentary parties like the Democratic Party (DS) and the Movement for the Restoration of the Kingdom of Serbia, as well as from extra-parliamentary groups including Kreni-promeni and Dveri. President Aleksandar Vučić dissolved parliament and called the early vote, citing social tensions. The ruling Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) will run under the “Aleksandar Vučić – United Serbia” banner.
